RGB LCD shield - common anode backlight version?

Post by nsayer »

Adafruit is out-of-stock on the RGB LCD displays for the foreseeable future, it seems.

DigiKey stocks a perfectly suitable replacement, except for the fact that the backlight pins are the opposite polarity - common cathode instead of common anode.

From where I sit, it looks like the solution is simply to modify the board to provision a jumper to pin 15 to connect it to either ground or +5, and add an initialization constant to the library to specify inverse logic for the backlight pins.

What do you say, Adafruit?

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll pass it along to the design team.
