Hi,
I recently purchased a 1m digital RGB LED strip found at this link:
https://www.adafruit.com/products/306#Technical_Details
I have been powering the LED strip with the power supply found at this link:
https://www.adafruit.com/products/276
This power supply is outputting 5.12 volts. I don't expect that to damage the strip.
As a quick note, the LED strip has worked properly in the past.
Here is my issue:
When powering the LED strip, LEDs 4, 5, 10, 11, 26, 27 are illuminated white. LEDs 30 is illuminated green 31 is blue. All other LEDs are off. (LED 0 is closest to the power supply, LED 31 is at the opposite end of the strip) I am not able to get these LEDs to turn off.
When running strandtest, the example sketch, LEDs 0 through 3 behave properly, but all other LEDs do not change at all. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Re: Digital RGB LED Strip Issue
You may have cracked the flexible lead or a solder between pixels 3 and 4. Try pressing on the chip, the LEDs, the solders, etc. in the vicinity and see if the behavior changes.

Pressing anywhere along the strip had no effect.

How long ago did you purchase the strip?
How have you been using it?

Re: Digital RGB LED Strip Issue
I purchased the strip September 4th. So just over a month ago.
I've been powering the strip with the power supply previously mentioned. Controlling the strip with an Arduino Uno. The strip has just been laying flat on my desk while I tested different code with my Uno. There has been no abusive use like using it underwater, folding or dropping the strip, etc.
