Adafruit SSD1331 on the Due

Post by pjr »

I have the Adafruit SSD1331 and have tested it successfully on the Uno and the Mega. However, the driver doesn't compile on the Due. Has anybody ported it to the Due? What about porting to the Beaglebone? I am working on an application that requires better performance than the one I can get from the standard AVR Arduinos. I appreciate any assistance.

We have a long list of libraries to port to the Due. No ETA on the SSD1331 at this time.

Thanks. I'll wait. Any plans for the Beaglebone?

Any updates on the SSD1331 due port? Thanks for the hard work.

I downloaded the latest version, as well as Arduino 1.5.7. The test program compiles and loads without any errors, and the display works fine. However, the hardware pins (ISP 3 and ISP 4) don't seem to make the display any faster. Any suggestions?

Also, any plans for porting to a Beaglebone? You already have the OLED monochrome displays ported...

Thanks,

No plans for porting to the Beaglebone that I know of.

If it's not faster on hardware SPI, you're probably at the speed limit of the display.

Thank you, Rick. Since Adafruit ported the SSD1306 to Python, making them available to both Beaglebone and Raspberry Pi, I think a natural next step would be to port the SSD1331 to Python. If there are no plans, that's really a pity.

Thanks for the interest, I can definitely add the SSD1331 displays to the list of libraries I'm working on porting to the Pi, BBB, etc. No firm commitment on when it will be ready but will try to look at it as one of the next displays to support.

Thanks! I am sure that many of the current users of the SSP1306 for the BBB or the Pi will be delighted to hear about the possibility of having the color OLED available as well.
