I'm going to use one NeoPixel Mini PCB for a water level indicator running off maybe a trinket.
I'm reading about a lot of blown LED's on strips here and the remedies for it. Do I need to worry about this at all?
It seems like the issue is that with more LED's there is more juice going through that first pixel so more likely to blow up.
Also when are they going to be back in stock? I want my BLinky.
Using just one NeoPixel.

I know this post is old, but I just saw it today... Why the fear? Just put a big cap across the supply lines and you're good to go. If you're still unsure, get a 2-color LED (red/green) or something simpler. Of course, you won't get the intermediate colors that you'd probably want. Never mind.

You shouldn't need to worry about the PCB versions of the NeoPixels, but a 470 ohm resistor on the data line may help. See our tutorial:
