TouchShield v2

Just got my touchShield v2 and am having some strange behavior.

Everything seemed to be ok with the graphics test demo. However the touchpaint demo is producing some strange results.

If I touch the the half of the screen that contains the pallet first nothing happens.

If I drag my finger to the opposite half the dots begin to appear. If I then drag my finger BACK to the other half the dots continue to appear. As long as I keep my finger in contact the screen seems to behave as expected. However, if I remove it I must touch the half without the color pallet before it begins to respond again.

I also tried using the touchtest demo but the only thing that get printed is
Adafruit STMPE610 example
STMPE not found!

Any help would be appreciated.

What kind of arduino are you using it with?
