EL Wire/Pocket Inverter not working
I purchased the EL wire starter kit #583 (Invoice #433479). After I plugged the inverter into the wire and installed fresh batteries, the wire glowed for about 1 second and then went out. I have tried different batteries, wiggled wires, and pressed the button on the inverter a bunch, but nothing makes the wire glow again. Is there a trick I'm not doing? Thanks.

Re: EL Wire/Pocket Inverter not working
I had the same/similar issue - EL Inverter #317 and white EL wire #410
The inverter makes a faint high pitched sound (continuous or intermittent according to the button presses) but no EL light other than a couple of flashes and the LED on the inverter fades out after a few seconds.
Looks like the inverter but could be the connector to the wire.
Contacted adafruit support and they are replacing it

Re: EL Wire/Pocket Inverter not working
Hello,
I'm new to adfruit and ordered my first EL-tape starters packages.
Everything shipped fine and arrived on time.
However, when I turn on the EL wire 4xAAA pocket inverters with the original batterys, they produce a high pitched sound (continuous or intermittent according to the button presses.
The tape glows but the sound is really disturbing and not wanted for my project.
I dont think this is normal.
how can this be solved?
regards

Re: EL Wire/Pocket Inverter not working
Unfortunately, inverters tend to produce this sound. It's normal.
