Shortening a Neopixel ring?
I know the Neopixel strips can be shortened, but is there anything in the PCB design/construction of the Neopixel rings that would prevent cutting them into two halves and having one or both of the halves still usable?

Not really.
It might be a bit tricky to make a connection to the DI pin at the cut-off end, but other than that I don't see any problems.

The routing on the back of the board is a bit wacky™ in order to pack everything so close. The "Data Input" pin backtracks two pixels...so you'd probably want to cut it at the "Data Out" pin and the fiducial mark 180 degrees opposite this. Except then you've cut off the ground via, and would have to do tiny and delicate things with blue wire. I'm thinking this is Not a Good Idea.
