MicroUSB cable not charging my Moto X
I just recently purchased the Flowing Effect MicroUSB Data+Charging Cable (http://adafru.it/1234), but it does not seem to charge my Moto X phone at all. I have tried multiple USB ports, a wall outlet, car adapter, etc. I am thinking that it's just a defective cable, so how do I go about exchanging it for a replacement?

Re: MicroUSB cable not charging my Moto X
Hi There,
I have two of your micro USB chargers, a white one and black one and I was using them to charge my HTC one via USB however the lights started moving erratically and then the power supply on the cable got hot and melted a hole into it and it doesn't work at all anymore, was the current draw to the HTC one too large for the cable to handle?
How can I go about getting a replacement?
I can provide a picture of it if you like.
Thanks
Nils

Yikes!
Please do post a photo.. no charging cable should get hot enough to melt the insulation.
Did you have it plugged into the USB port of a computer when this happened, or some other power source?

Hey Mike,
Yes I was plugged into a normal USB port in my laptop, the charging became intermittent, lights were going on and off and then it started to smell like burnt plastic.
Now it does nothing but still gets hot.
Here is an image (taken with the phone, apologies for the average picture)
Cheers!

That looks very much like a shorted transformer.. clearly a hardware failure. Don't plug it into anything again.
