Mounting Pixels Outdoors

Post by pahikerboy »

After Using the RGB Pixels in my outdoor Christmas display I learned that keeping them pointing out and straight is a must, also
Keeping the water out of them is also a big thing.I started prying back the silicone boot around the LED and putting a bead of Silicone in there and also doing the rear so water can't get into between the wires.
I used 1" 1/2 conduit drilled out bigger in back and drilled holes in the front for them to fit into, it worked pretty well to keep the weather away from them, but the pvc pipe size   was kinda over-kill for just the lights.
I was wondering what other people are using to mount these in??
I was thinking of some kind of pvc L or U bracket to mount under a roof line, something low cost thats not going to cost more than the lights and maybe give them some protection from the winter weather.
If the Pixels are not straight it doesn't do the sketch justice.
