Hello!
I thought I would mention that I've finally found a definite use for this particular one, http://www.adafruit.com/products/910 . On first glance, the biggest problem would be presenting video in a fashion that it would, ah, be able to display.
This is the "3.5 sized one. But ideally this presentation also goes for the the "1.5 one which is what I originally ordered for the Pi. I never did get that idea to work and since put the thing aside. Accordingly a new project surfaced which made use of that talent for the Prop. And a fellow over in that side of things created what he calls a Prop BackPack. Which is available here http://www.parallax.com/product/28327 it uses a "1/8 stereo connector for outputing both video and audio. That feature is rarely used, but the designer will argue the point. To connect both I fashioned an adapter from the double ended phono connector shown in the photo and a cable which contained the "1/8 connector wired for video only. The examples they provide ran as expected, but with the smaller text it was hard to tell. I'm told that screen sizing is a variable which is adjustable. The screen even lit up on the five volts available from the host.
