60-pixel ring: sine wave really?

Post by jcgoodman »

On today's new product show, Lady Ada mentioned that you could solder the individual quarter-pieces of the new 60-LED Neopixel ring together to make a sine wave instead of a ring. But since the strips are different front and back and end to end, you can't flip or rotate them. Can you really make arbitrary left- and right- curves, or wouldn't you need two different kinds of pieces?

You're right that the segments are basically polarized. You'd have to get creative with the wiring. ;-)
