Flora RGB Smart Neo Pixels without microcontroller

Post by o.c. »

I just need to use one LED Flora RGB Smart Neo Pixels set to one color.
Is it possible to do this without using the Flora board at all? (connecting a DC power source to the LED directly)

Thank you very much.

No. If you want to set an RGB LED to power up in a single static color, you can use one of the 5050 RGB LEDs (same led as in the Neopixel) and set the R, G and B levels via resistors.

If it's a common color (red, green, blue or white), the LED sequins might be even easier; they have the resistor built in and can be sewn or soldered.
