Hello
Is there a danger to damage the Neomatrix if I unplug the Power wire but leave the Data wire connected to the arduino ?
I would like to be able to switch off my 5V alimentation leaving the arduino on.
If yes, what would be the best way do to an electronical switch to switch off the data wire of the neomatrix ? a transistor ?
Thank you !

Yes. The data line could still send current into the chip.MisterYo wrote:Is there a danger to damage the Neomatrix if I unplug the Power wire but leave the Data wire connected to the arduino ?
You'd probably want something like a two-inverter buffer powered from the same VCC rail as the NeoPixel strip:MisterYo wrote:If yes, what would be the best way do to an electronical switch to switch off the data wire of the neomatrix ? a transistor ?
With that arrangement, no signal can reach the DI pin when the strip's VCC rail is disconnected.
