128x64 oled display row brightness?

Post by kiddingme »

Just want to know if it's normal for rows with more pixels lit up to be dimmer then other rows with less pixels lit. Is there anyway to reduce this issue?

I couldn't capture the difference in line brightness from one row to another with my camera but I googled around and found this image that shows what I'm talking about.

Hmm - I'll have to check mine to see what it looks like.
How are you powering this?
Can you post a picture of your board, just so we can check the soldering?

Yep, mine does the same thing. I never noticed that before.

I was able to reduce the effect quite a bit by changing some of the initializing commands. I suspect there's no way to completely eliminate it though :(

What commands did you change? Did you play with the precharge period settings at all?
