Stupid PiTFT question
The screen didn't stick down with the supplied tape. What can I do instead? I could use more tape, but what about alternatives such as hot glue?

Not HOT glue unless you are very careful. I would just get some fresh double sided foam tape and redo what was there. It's a delicate connection and isn't meant to support much weight.
