HDMI 4 Pi: 7" Display 1280x800 IPS - HDMI/VGA/NTSC/PAL 1931

Post by Nilok »

I'm trying to find out what cable is used to connect the LCD screen to the PCB800099 controller board and if there is a longer and more robust cable that can be used instead.

I'll rephrase the question, what can I do to separate the PCB controller from the LCD screen. I have to have them about 5-6 feet from each other and I expect the cable connecting them to move. What is the best way to extend the connection?

Why do you need to seperate the controller and the display? Would it not be better to extend the cable input to the monitor?

I am going to use the screen for a VR head mounted display and I am worried that the screen, controller, and the IMU I have is going to be too heavy for the wearer. I am trying to mitigate some of the weight by moving the PCB controller off their head and onto the desk.

10.2 oz for the display. You could strip off the case and stand for some weight reduction. I would not recommend messing with the cable as that will void any warranty.

I'm not sure if we are talking about the same device, I'm talking about the $114.95 kit that is only the LCD screen, controller, and switches (product # 1931).

Thank you for that information on the warranty, I will keep that in mind.
