Quad Alphanumeric Display - Red 0.54 +Backpack --does not Li

Post by carmelito »

The Quad Alphanumeric Display - Red 0.54 that i received on Friday 08/01 does not work after i solder'ed it on the I2C Backpack,by following the guide at the link below and loaded up quadalphanum sketch and passing “ABCD” via the Serial Monitor..
https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-led ... phanumeric

In addition i also test the Adafruit 0.56" 4-Digit 7-Segment Display which worked successfully..

Order Number: 552943-7661698715
From the Order part detail that does not work : Quad Alphanumeric Display - Red 0.54" Digits w/ I2C Backpack PID: 1911
Attached some Pictures
Please let me know if there is a way to debug this ? or let me know the next steps here..

Thanks - Carmelito

It looks like quite a few of your solder joints have not flowed sufficiently onto the surrounding solder pad. Please review this guide. It has some tips on fixing problems such as those: http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-guid ... n-problems

Thanks for the quick response, yes the the CLK pin had insufficient wetting.Lessons learnt, never solder late in the night after you have had couple of beers :)
