LPD8806 Not Lighting up on one end

Post by troyco »

Hey Guys,
First time buyer, first time issue.

I recently bought 3 meters of LPD8806 and when I supplied power to the strip one end of the strip seems to fault and not light up. See attached picture.

I have supplied power from both ends and still it seems the same LED's are affected. I am using a 5V 10A switching power supply. I would expect by just supplying the strip with power I should expect that all the lights turn on and default to white?

As this is my first experience with this I didn't want to proceed any further until I know that it is operating as expected.

Thanks

Troy

Don't expect all the LEDs to light up by simply applying power. You should run the strandtest example sketch to test the strand.
