Ran Pi TFT installer script can't boot now

Hi

I'm using an original model B Raspberry Pi. I've assembled the PiTFT board. I ran the DIY installer script detailed here https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... sy-install

However, when I try to boot up the bootloader gets stuck at the point where it's trying to do something with the power switch. I've removed the board and tried booting up without it, however it gets stuck at the same place. I am unable to boot the pi up at all now and suspect the script has broken the Raspbian boot process. Any advice for a noob?

I would try re-installing the image.
If that doesn't work. please post the output from the boot process so we can see the exact place it stops and any error messages.

Hi! Thanks for the quick response. I forgot to mention I'm running Raspbian from a NOOBS disk. Which image should I re-install, Raspbian or one of the adafruit ones?

Also, can you tell me how to extract the boot output if it doesn't actually boot to the point of logging in? Or did you mean taking a snapshot of the screen with my phone?

For the PiTFT, you should be running the image from the PiTFT tutorial. Do you have the Resistive touch or the capacitive touch PiTFT?

You can take a picture of the boot screen with your camera.

Yah, just so i can see whats up, do you mind trying the full adafruit resistive image? if that does work, at least we can narrow it down to a noobs thing, which we can fix if necessary. probably just a detail in the install script.

I've tried booting with a fresh install of the Pi TFT 2.8 Resistive image, once without the TFT board attached and once with it attached, please see the images attached:

OK so does it work or not? Does anything appear on the PiTFT?

No, it freezes during boot up at the locations in the photos. The tft shows a blank white screen.

Weiird....i'm assuming you have good solid power and the pitft is plugged in nice and straight

so lets try replacing it. Email support@adafruit for a new pi tft!

Oh, its trying to put the console on the PiTFT, are you connected thru the console RX/TX or on HDMI monitor?

The tft is plugged into the gpio pins on the pi and I have a monitor plugged into the hdmi output of the pi. Is that a valid configuration?

The thing is, the image is trying to use the PiTFT for the display so it switches from the HDMI port. the Pi is fine, its just displaying on a nonexistant display.
