usb/li ion/solar charger for 12 V panels?

I have already had my students build the minty boost kits. They loved breadboarding the circuit first befor soldering it. Now, however we would like to add the solar charger to the kit. I already have 60-12V solar panels. could you give me some pointers, as I am new to designing electronics, of what components I would need to change to use these nice panels our class already owns rather than the 6V suggested panels.

The solar charger is designed for 6v panels. Making it work for 12v would be a completely different circuit.
