Starter Packs for Summer Camps

Post by Jamesklett »

To whom it may concern,

I am with the Boy Scouts of America and working to develop some learning programs using your stuff. Wow, there
is so much on this site. While I have a PhD in chemical engineering and am a practicing Materials Scientist, this stuff is a bit daunting. Is there someone I would could talk to about the best way to proceed. I am looking
to generate a 6 class program for the scouts (summer camp) to come each week to the class, and then do different things each class to learn all about the DIY electronics movement. We are going to have some prototype programs in our council, and hopefully this will roll out nationally eventually, so we would have a national level of program support for this and lots of orders. However, as I am not an comp. engineer, I need some help in figuring out what is the right amount of stuff to get for middle school age kids and what is right for high school age kids. Then I will need some help in choosing the right kits (I really like the flora gps kit, but don't know if it is too hard to do in 6 classes). If someone can contact me with a good time to call someone are your shop, and then can talk this over with me, I would be appreciative. We really think this kind of thing is something that we want more youth to be exposed to and this seems perfect as an introductory lesson. Thanks

James
