A newbie question

Post by tamirmichael »

Hello all,

I am very interested in the Bone as an embedded Linux platform.
Could somebody please tell me which software/hardware components I need alongside the Bone in order:
1. debug using eclipse (is there a guide as to how to configure eclipse somewhere, or other free software?)
2. program a bootloader (a JTAG adapter I guess...? which one?)
3. program a kernel/application.

Thanks in advance!

You can buy a FTR-110-03-G-D-LC-06 20-pin surface mount JTAG connector from DigiKey for $5.04 and a TMDSEMU100V2U-20T XDS100v2 JTAG Emulator (20-pin compact TI connector) for $79.00 directly from the TI or distributors. There is a free download of the Code Composer Studio which supports the BBB with StarterWare and TI-RTOS for Sitara (AM33x - Cortex A8).
