Hello ,
Can someone advise the possibility of attaching adafruit NFC shield to Beagle Bone? , or do I need a separate NFC USB (linux compatible) reader?
As I want to leverage on the WiFi extension to post NFC cards contents to the net.

your best bet is to use the Adafruit NFC breakout board, connect it to the UART on the Bone and then run libnfc - we do have a tutorial on doing it with the raspi which you might find helpful
