Should I get a beaglebone black REVC?
Hi, I am a java programmer, and want to do projects that need lots of GPIO pins, power, support, and available addons (like arduino shields). Does this seem like a good fit? I also need to use java to make these projects. Also is there an adafruit staff member online who can tell me when they will be back in stock??

You can't program Arduino in Java. You have to use the Arduino language, which is essentially C++ with some Arduino runtime additions.
You could look into the Raspberry Pi or BeagleBone Black, which are linux machines. They don't have quite the range of peripherals that Arduino does. What sort of peripherals are you interested in?
