I fried the connector to my iPod 4Gen and I'm out of warrenty. So I have iPod parts and a few Altoids cans. How should I go about mixing the 2 together? The HD and Screen work fine from what I've tested, as in they turn on atleast. The batter is gone but easily replaceable. The connector at the bottom, as I mentioned, got fried when I miss wired my front USB ports on my newest motherboard. And if you've ever fried a circuit, like I have, you know the smell.

If I can't figure out what to do with it I'm going to atleast by an external case for the HD and use it for storage. But heres the parts list:

1xToshiba MK2006GAL HD 20GB
1x3" LCD screen (unkown make and model)
1xAltoids can.

Let me know what you think on how I could make something of this. I've already thought about using some version(don't know yet) of Linux and loading it onto the HD to use as an MP3 player. Not sure how just yet, but It's late so my brains tired. Constructive feedback welcomed.
