Stepper motor doesn't move, only vibrates

I've been using the Adafruit stepper motor tutorial for RPi and have been unable to to get the motor to turn. The motor will only vibrate and buzz every time i run the python script. I'm using the L293D motor driver and 28BYJ-48 step motor. Wiring has been checked and rechecked countless times. dc motor works fine, as well as servo's but following the instructions exactly nothing happens. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

What motor are you using? Post photos showing your wiring.

I'm getting the same issue. When I run the python script on the pi, the motor buzzes but doesn't move at all. I've got the pi plugged directly into an outlet and it seemed like that was an improvement over having it plugged into a usb port (previously the step motor only buzzed on the backwards portion of the script when it was plugged into a usb port on my computer). With it plugged into an outlet it buzzes on both portions of the script.

You don't have the common lead of the motor (red) connected to ground.

Just connected the common lead to the ground on the same row as the GND label. It's still just buzzing.

Note that for L293D, your tutorial indicates that the common lead doesn't need to be connected to anything:

Looks like your Blue wire is going to the wrong pin. And you don't have the chip connected to ground (the other blue wire on the diagram).
