Can the USB hub Adafruit sells (http://adafruit.com/products/961) power the Raspberry Pi? In this circumstance, there would be a micro usb cable connected from the hub to the Pi's power input jack as well as the upstream port on the hub connected to one of the Pi's host USB ports.
