Burn building monitor

Post by winpup12 »

I have been tasked with creating a monitoring system to monitor the temperatures in the practice burn building of the local fire department. I was thinking of using the rasp-pi and the max31855 thermocouple amplifier to read the temp remotely and send it out to the web. The thermocouples will be enclosed in conduit between a protective barrier and the ceiling thus keeping them from actual flames. Does this seem feasible or is there a better way to go? Am having a little trouble actually getting the 31855 connected to the pi and talking.

Thanks

There is a thread over at the raspberry pi site about connecting to a MAX31855. Seems like they have it working
