Hi,
I'm trying to get my Adafruit Serial Console cable to work on my Mountain Lion OS X computer.
I'm following this tutorial:
http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-ras ... lation-mac
I've installed the driver and rebooted, but it does not enumerate when I plug it in.
ls /dev/cu.* only gives me this:
/dev/cu.Bluetooth-Modem /dev/cu.Bluetooth-PDA-Sync
Any ideas?
RPi Serial Console cable does not enumerate (OSX)

Which driver did you install? The one from sourceforge or the one from changux.co?
The changux driver is the one to use - the author claims that the driver works with Mountain Lion.

I used the sourceforge driver (missed the part about mountain lion). I installed the other driver, and now it enumerates. Thank you.
I get lots of garbage data dumped along with the actual console output when using ZAC though... dunno if this is expected or has to do with the driver.

What sorts of garbage? Can you post a sample? Is it getting in your way?

Now I can't reproduce the problem... It was just random junk characters appearing every 1-2 seconds continuously.
The GND pin is very loose, so that may have been the cause of the problem.

Yes - it sounds very much like a loose connection. If you are very careful, you may be able to push the pin out of the plastic shroud. There should be a little slot on the side of the shroud where a tang on the pin pops in to secure it. Very gently push the tang in to release the pin. Gently squeezing the pin with some needle-node pliers may make it hold more securely. Then push it back into the shroud so the tang re-engages the slot.
