Firstly, I'm just wondering if this is where I should be posting questions about the Raspberry Pi itself and if not, where should I be asking? The RPi was originally from adafruit as were the peripherals I have been using with it.
If it is, here's a brief description of the problem:
Currently, when I plug it in the PWR light will light up red momentarily and then go out. The longer it's been unplugged for, the longer the light goes on with a maximum of around 6 seconds. The board near the power supply continues to heat up (component F3 seems to be the source of the heat) which suggests that the plug is making contact fine.
However, I have tried a few different power supplies and a few different cables all with the same symptoms. A couple iPhone chargers, an iPad charger, and various other USB plug chargers that I've accumulated over the years.
The only thing I've used with this RPi other than a keyboard mouse and monitor, is the adafruit mini thermal receipt printer plugged in to ground, TXD and RXD through an adafruit Pi Cobbler. It's been running fine for a few weeks now automatically printing out my instagram feed. For the past week the RPi hasn't even had a keyboard, mouse, or monitor as I have simply been accessing it via VNC.
Thanks for any help,
