I recently purchased the USB WiFi Module and have be using it fine with RBMC. Was easy setup in RBMC, but I am having difficulty getting it to work with Occidentalis v0.2. On boot-up it gets to DHCPDISCOVER keeps trying wlan0 on port 67 interval 4 then 11 etc...It finally fails and says "No DHCPOFFERS"
I also do not have the WiFi GUI on mine, not sure why. I manually configured by entering my SSID and PW, but it is not working. The issue is at boot and I do not know what I should try next. Any help appreciated.
Going to try connecting to wired LAN and update for now, just in case...
Thanks

Do you have SSID broadcast enabled on your router? You will see this error if broadcast is turned off.dhamultun wrote:It finally fails and says "No DHCPOFFERS"

SSID is set to broadcast. I've tried everything I can think of, even downloaded the distro again and started from scratch...same results. Going to try the latest wheezy from the RaspPi downloads and see what happens.

Just installed the latest version of wheezy and WiFi worked straight out of the box! Must be something wrong with occidentalis v0.2. Might try it again some other time.

Occidentalis is getting a tad bit outdated. If I knew how they compiled their kernel I'd be tempted to roll my own unofficial v0.3

Decided to install any kernel modules that I may need manually. Gives me a good excuse to learn more about using Linux. So far so good!
