raspberry pi not working

Post by toby718 »

No activity from any of the LEDs not even power LED is lighting up, this is extremely time sensitive as I need to complete a project and any information would be greatly appreciated.

Can you provide details of what you've tried doing?

These are some general start-up guides for getting an RPi working: http://www.raspberrypi.org/quick-start-guide and http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-rasp ... spberry-pi (and, if you need, http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruits-ras ... figuration).

Was in the process of getting this to work (http://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-rasp ... a-dc-motor) I completed all the steps but it did not work. Then all of sudden, I was getting no LEDs lighting up. As of now I am able to get a steady power LED, but no display and I cannot connect via putty either. I've formatted the 4GB SD Card with Occidentals v0.2 multiple times, I also changed the config to boost hdmi signal as well as to force hdmi output.

I used a wireless adapter as well as ethernet cable when trying to use putty. Since the beginning I've encountered difficulties, I was wondering if there is also a way to go about getting a replacement.

With using PuTTY, I've never really had problems getting to the command line as long as the OS had loaded successfully. What specifically happened before it stopped working? My initial guess is that, if you are unable to get any network activity (and the setup is the same as when it was working), you might have shorted something to the RPi during the motor circuit setup, and it damaged the ARM processor itself.

I was fiddling around with the code because the project wasnt working, but I know someone who did the exact same project and it worked. So I thought it might have something to do with the GPIO. After I couldnt get it to work, i shut it down unplugged power. The next day when I went at it again, I encounter the no power led.

You really do have to provide more details for anyone to be able to help.

The fact that the power LED sometimes works and sometimes doesn't suggests that you have a problem in your power connections. Post a photo of your setup and we'll see if that gives us any clues.
