Portable consol

I have been working on a portable pi for the last few months and now I'm trying to build a portable MAME consol that's self powered....I already have a screen but I'm struggling on figuring out the fight controls to purchase...I'm not sure if there are any pre made joysticks for the pi or if I should purchase a micro controller and make on myself....all help on the subject is greatly appreciated .
