Mounting the pi

Post by osoverflow »

Hi! I want to know if there is something to mount a PI and other accessories like the camera, the nfc reader. Something like plastic screw to attach them to a custom made case.

Thank you

Partial Auto Answer myself: http://www.adafruit.com/products/1116

This pieces are useful to mount a raspberry pi or the nfc reader, but not the screen or tft display that has holes for a screw.

Note that the bits you found are for mounting circuit boards that don't have any mounting holes (thus those grip the board edges). The original Pi didn't have mounting holes, but the current models do, IIRC. You could use standard plastic standoffs or screws to mount the boards in most anything (as long as the boards don't touch conductive metal surfaces). The PiBow PiTFT case that Adafruit now carries works great for the Pi and the display; before that came along I was using Adafruit's older Pi Box (just leave the top off), but the PiBow version is more solid. But neither of these have much real estate left on the front for other hardware.

I recall seeing a number of custom 3D-printed cases, for Pi plus camera, Pi plus screen, etc, on sites like thingverse and shapeways - you might look around there, or you might try RaspberryPi.org's case sub-forum.
