[solved] White Screen tft 2.8 pi

Post by crook1718 »

I followed the steps at https://learn.adafruit.com/adafruit-pit ... stallation.
I only get a white screen, when I run startx my monitor goes black however when I move my mouse in certain places it will make the screen flicker(distorted blocks flash on and off).
The touch screen works as i can see it moving the mouse on my monitor.
What am I doing wrong?

Any help would be appreciated, thanks in advance.

Thank you for your reply.

I ended up starting from scratch and trying again, I had the same problem with the screen. After a few reboots, I noticed the screen turned black. So I ran startx and it worked.

I do apologised for not getting back to this thread earlier.

Glad to hear it. Any idea what the problem might have been?

I have a feeling it was something to do with the kernal modules not loading correctly. But I can't be 100% sure. (I think i might have had to change one of the config files).

If I have time I will post some more details, and see if I can reproduce the error and provide troubleshooting steps.

Edit: The only problem I have is the pi user can't login via the GUI. I haven't looked into why yet but it happed after installing the new kernal.
