Light Painting with Raspberry Pi short circuiting?

Post by KatieMer »

I am trying do Light Painting with the Raspberry pi and I think I short circuited my pi. When I connected the 5v power, the raspberry pi shut off. It will not start again, and if I plug everything into a different pi I starts working again. I have attached a picture of my breadboard in hopes that someone sees something I wired wrong.

Or if there isn't a problem with the wiring, is there something else I need to do?

Looks correct from here. You say a second Pi hooked up to the same thing works OK? And can you confirm it's a 5V power supply?

Try connecting normal USB power to the 'bad' Pi. Does it light up at all? If not, test it again tomorrow...these boards have thermal fuses that sometimes take hours to reset. If it still doesn't boot, then the board is likely toast.
