DEAR GUEST!

Post by hamburgers »

A few months ago, I sent private messages to a shitload of established forum members, asking for some help on a secret project. A group of folks have helped me put a package together as a token of our appreciation for your efforts to get the whole world glipping and glurping with their x0xb0xes.

Donations from these members were used to gather up the components for a Shruthi 1 kit, including the following direct from Mutable Instruments: control board, SSM2044 board, SMR-4 board, IR3109 board (still waiting on the IR3109 chip), and a clear acrylic case.

We didn't collect quite enough money to get the full kit (inc. all the parts) straight from Olivier, but we tallied up what we each had, and various contributors have shipped components to me over the past several weeks. There's still a package or two incoming, but since the boards are here, I thought it was time to post this.

So, PM me your shipping info, or the info of an associate if you wish to remain anonymous. 8)

big thanks from all of us: mome rath, phono, Altitude, SubStyler, isak, bcbox, Luap, Brassteacher, Fiercefish, charlie_says, vlady, maxtim, and control_voltage

Ahh, so the unknown is now known!!

Guest, so many of us would have dysfunctional x0xb0xes if it were not for all your help!
So here's another thanks from me for all your time..

And in case you have been living under a rock for the past year or 2..

What a nice gesture. :D

I've only just started my first build but guest has already been very helpful in diagnosing a faulty IC. And I'm sure he'll (she'll?) be called on to help in the near future :)

I'm absolutely broke at the moment, but i did order the custom engraving option for the acrylic case for my Shruthi; I never got round to getting it organised, and I'd like to contribute that to the overall gift package if appropriate? Let me know if so, it should be easy enough to organise via frank (acrylic man) and Olivier.

Many thanks for your continuing assistance.

Ben

Have fun with the Shruti :o
Your role in the development of the x0xb0x and the many years of support does not go unnoticed.

perhaps i should run the guess whos guest contest

substyler
a friend of mine pointed out that they make
wireless midi links
but they are kind of expensive
and that it should be possible
to have the transmitter be phantom powered from midi
so i decided to make one this week
and it turns out you can phantom power it
i also added full data acknowledgement
and collision avoidance
so it should be 100% data reception
but at the cost of a 10ms lag

Wow!

I found link to this thread from Mutable-Instruments forum (I've built a couple of Shruthies lately) and immediately remembered 'guest' help with a tricky problem couple of years ago.

Thank you once again!
