R=resistor
L=inductor
C=capacitor

Why is inductor abbreviated as "L" anyway? Some early-electronic breakthrough in a foreign language? if so, what language?

don't tell me it's short for coiL...

true that I us used for current (another headscratcher, actually)
but still... there's no L in inductor (just like there's no I in current)

What language was electronics terminology defined in, anyhoo?

L must stand for Lots of Loops of wire...
