Audio Problem : Two computers, same settings. One works other doesnt.

Post by Ldizzy »

Im plucking hair out of my head.

Here's the setup for computer 1, which works :

Macbook pro with :

Mac OS X 10.6.8
UM-ONE midi interface with latest update.
Duet Drivers (updated)

Here's the audio setup for computer TWO which DOES NOT WORK (same settings):

Mac OS X 10.7.5 (lion)
UM-ONE midi interface with latest update.
Duet Drivers (updated)

SAME AUDIO SETUP.

i do not have screenshots but my eyes line by line tell me they are the SAME SAME SAME. for all three screenshots.

Everything is the same. We have the computers next to one another.

- MIDI WORKS PROPERLY FOR BOTH (triggers xoxbox) so sound is most likely produced.
- sound from internal audio track is audible through monitors, so speakers do work with setup b. so playback on setup b is not the issue.
- Audio won't come out of setup B (lion) ... although the same wiring with the duet works on setup one.

only difference between the setups so far is the operating system.

so i do NOT understand why.

Need help. Is there something im missing????

Thank you so much, we are going crazy.

Hi Ldizzy,

If ur are talking about the line in jack?
Sometimes the female jacks from macbooks dont make/brake contact.
If u use line in option try to insert the male jack a few times to make it react.
I have encountered many macbooks sharing this problem and after a few attempts i worked for most of them.
U can also use a little bit of contactcleaner.
But i dont know if this is what ur talking about.
Good Luck:)
Hans
