x0xb0x 190 arrived

Post by Guest »

I received it earlier today. Took approximately 1 hour to make sure I had all of the parts and I spent another 3 hours soldering. I estimate I'm somewhere between 1/3 and 1/2 done.

A pic of my progress is here:

Great!

Your not quite 1/3 done tho.. Remember the 44 LED's, all the tact switches, the VCF has ALOT of parts.. and take a good look at the number of 10k resistors!

That's not 1/3, not by a long shot. The sequencer alone has a hell of a lot of parts! But you're doing good. Careful with the 200ks in the divider though, touching like that might cause you tuning trouble later...

Indeed. Any reason why you are mounting all the resistors like that instead of vertically, which is what the PCB was designed for? You'll get into some tights spots around the VCF if you keep mounting them like that...

I thought it would be faster not vertical mounting them. After that pic everything I've done was vertical mount.

Which 200k resistors are you referring to that are touching? I assume you mean the 174 through 190?

Yup, this big ole array of 200k 1%s makes the output voltage from the seq. Deviations in resistance here can cause nasty weird tuning issues.
