So i connected my freshly built nonxox2 to my yamaha dx200 to do some recording. Midi out on the yamaha to midi in from the xox. Yamaha should be sending midi messages like start/stop since I changed the settings for it. Nothing happenes on the xox. Changed sync, to midisync, and used play mode, (and others just so see if something happened) but nothing.
Any ideas?
PS the other way around works (xox as master--> dx200 starts playing

to make sure you set the sync mode correctly, switch to settings mode, hold the TIME MODE button, and see which LED lights up, it should be #3 for midi-sync (slave mode)
press 3 just in case and let go the TIME button
if the x0x is getting MIDI_CLOCK messages on the midi-in port - the TEMPO led should blink

Your tip on the blinking tempo led was very helpfull so I could see if midi was transmitted. First not...
So I checked the dx200 again and saw there was no midi trouh output, but midi trough was on, which was using the midi out. Turned it off and it works perfectly now!
So thanks again:)

In the manual I dont see a 'mute' option. Is it there, or is it possible? I find such an option very handy in a live setup :)

mute?
- either turn down the volume (its quick and much never sounding than an abrupt mute)
- or press stop on the x0x and func+start to restart it ;)

Sometimes abrubt is good ;) but turning the volume button quickly is indeed more dynamic
So the function + start starts it in sync again, that would do it! Thanks

Yeah, the start-in-sync thing is one of the most simple but useful features imho
