Thick film vs thin film?

Post by george_graves »

I was doing some parts shopping last night for SMD 10k "jelly beans" as people call them - and I have a questions. Why would you choose thin film over thick film? Are their different advantages to both?

Thin film resistors have lower noise, lower tempco, and can achieve higher tolerance.

$$$$$

I use these in precision applications - test circuits mostly.
