I was wondering if the gauge back (the paper with the lines/readings on it) can be swapped out without too much trouble? I want to create my own back.
Thanks.

I think the answer is yes, but I hope we get an official answer on how easy/hard it is, since I might want to do the same thing soon.

Re: Analog panel meter product question
I got some different ones, and the back was a painted and screenprinted piece of thin alu that was screwed into place.
I scanned it, traced it in illustrator and printed my own scale on the laser printer and gluesticked it onto the piece, and cut around it. As my laser is pretty hopeless it doesnt look the best, but if you were just going black and white it would be fine.

Fromthe catalog page:
This one is fairly large and is easy to open up the front with two screws and replace the gauge.

Re: Analog panel meter product question
I ended up buying 4 of these. Easy to open, yes, but the gauge is glued to the case of the meter and is thin metal, so prying it off will probably destroy the gauge. You might be able to slip something thin in between the gauge and the case to break the sticky glue.
So if you want to do this, plan on just putting something in front of the gauge vs actually replacing it.

Usually they aren't glued AFAIK. That is a little strange I think.
