Hi,
Is there a proven circuit of an Uninterrupted Power-Supply which has say 5VDC output rated @2Amps, and takes AC mains input ? It uses a LiION battery-pack when there's a main's power outage, but supplies rectified DC from mains power when available, while also charging the battery if needed ?
This circuit seems to be something that should be a very common need in many projects, yet I find no ready made or DIY circuits for same.
cheers,

Not what you're looking for, I know, but I've used http://www.powerstream.com/DC-UPS-1212.htm for a 12V system and SLA batteries...
This (http://www.adafruit.com/products/259) would seem to be pretty close, with the addition of a line power to USB wall wart...

Thanks for answering.
I don't quite see that doing a passthru when the wall power (or 12VDC) is available. So, I don't know if this will somehow meet my needs. If so, not sure how.tastewar wrote:Not what you're looking for, I know, but I've used http://www.powerstream.com/DC-UPS-1212.htm for a 12V system and SLA batteries...
This does seem very close to what I need, although I am not certain that 2700mAh @1W will suffice. What could be the way to get higher capacity of backup power (i.e. my gadget runs for a longer duration without wall power) ?tastewar wrote: This (http://www.adafruit.com/products/259) would seem to be pretty close, with the addition of a line power to USB wall wart...
