Battery / Charger Advice

Post by shacklebolt »

Hi! So I built a smartphone robot and put it up on Kickstarter (we've sold 600 so far). I prototyped with this battery/charger:

Sparkfun's 850mAH LiPo: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/341
&
Sparkfun's LiPo Charger/Booster: http://www.sparkfun.com/products/10300

Assuming Sparkfun can supply enough chargers or assuming I can just put their charger on my board (since my stuff will be open source), is this the best battery option or would NiMH/something like this be better: http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/2233

My only requirements are 5V and rechargeable. Any thoughts?

If you want to see the size/application here's the Kickstarter (not trying to get you guys to buy one): http://kck.st/om1pPu

hi,

cool bot :)

these are not our products and we cannot support them or offer suggestions in our customer support forums. you should really post in the sparkfun forums about this which they do have and would probably prefer you post there too! if you're selling these (600 of them) it's pretty important to know these types of things before you sell them to customers :)

thank you,
adafruit

Hi thanks!

Just wondering if anybody had a suggestion for a better battery/charger set (not at all pimping sparkfun or asking for tech support with their parts).

(is there a more appropriate section to ask this in?)

Good to know, sorry I misunderstood the purpose of the forum-- next time I'll keep it to adafruit stuff only ;)
