I was looking for car parts and noticed that they were selling some decent looking rocker switches. I clicked on it and was stunned:

$10? for a rocker switch?
Crazy as this is, I bet there are worse price gouges out there. So, what is the craziest overpriced item you have found?
Most overpriced part/component

Anything from RadioShack, lol. Seriously, they have 5-packs of 1/8W resistors that cost upwards of two bucks, amongst many others.

Some NTE replacement semiconductors. I had a bad need for a 1N4148 recently, and paid a king's ransom for it- $1.25! Ouch!

In 1995/6 or so I had a conversation that went something like this
"Hi, this is Lyndon from Alpha Products. I need a quote on an Atmel xxxxx. It's a 16kx8 Flash memory. Need pricing at quantity 100 and 500 pieces please."
(Future/Active Electronics sales rep) "Looks like $250 each at qty 100."
"What?????? Did you get the part number right?"
FAI: "Yeah, and the description matches. 16kx8 Flash"
"Are these things on allocation or something?"
FAI: "Nope."
"OK, it's not Space-qualified, Extended temperature range or anything like that, is it? We just need standard Commercial temperature range."
FAI: "Yup, that's what this is."
"$250 each, huh? I guess we'll let you know." <Click>
Never found out where that price came from, but we ended up using a different mfr part that cost about $10.
