Is there a good way to clear solder from vias?

Post by dr_kylstein »

I slipped up assembling a protoshield, and got solder on some of the vias. Now I can't get the headers in. I removed as much solder as I could with wick, but I can't get the vias themselves clear.

A solder-sucker can help. If you are installing non-heat-sensitive components like headers, a heat-gun can be helpful as well.

I have a solder sucker. It was collecting dust until now. I finally put it to use, and now I have a working protoshield! Thanks for the tip.
