An Idea grown from necessity.

Hi. I'm new to the forum and have joined to seek assistance with an idea, or just pass it on to someone with more knowledge than myself. I have an intermediate knowledge and understanding of electronics but little or no design experience. As I don't work in electronics I have very limited knowledge of where we are today with availability of technology.

My wife, like many people world wide, has recently been diagnosed with epilepsy. The type she has means the whole family constantly worry she is going to be OK during the day. My idea revolves around a new type of seizure alarm, I have done some basic research on my ideas. I know they are viable from a technology viewpoint, but I an unsure how best to implement them and I don't want to try an reinvent the wheel if I can simply combine existing projects.

I would really appreciate a conversation revolving around the best way to develop this idea and make it easily available to epilepsy sufferers worldwide.
