LSM303 accelerometer + magnometer with Livid instruments Brain Jr. ?

Post by jupitor »

I have a Livid instruments brain jr. (anologue + digital input to midi usb output) And I would like to connect my adafruit LSM303 accelerometer magnometer out puts to affect midi control change values... I am building a controller that has buttons and potentiometers, and a fader. The info from these is plugged in and turned into midi by the brain Jr. It would stand to reason that I should be able to use the X, Y, Z axis and Compass info to add tilt and roll affects to my midi controller.. Do I need to add a separate arduino to read the LSM303 data? - Jupitor..

Well, the LSM303 speaks I2C and it appears the Livid board doesn't. So in that case you would need a translator between the two. I guess you could use analog writes on the Arduino to make voltages to send to the Livid analog inputs. Someone else might have a better idea.

Mmmm, the brain Jr. Does have an I2C port just like the LMS303 accelerometer... I need to look into this though I know nothing bout no I2C...?

I didn't see that on any of the spec sheets I looked up. But I don't know anything about the Livid product.
