Hi all. I'm new to Aruduino platform development. We are contemplating making a device that has a series of remote sensors that would communicate to a main hub for gathering information inside of residential homes. These sensors may sit between walls and several meters from the hub. Sometimes in an attic, sometimes under a home. We need a robust low cost solution that would support such communication including all of the low power, sleep/wake, goodies that are out there.
We are looking at the Xbee platform and like it very much but think that the cost is a bit prohibitive for our application. While extremely robust and excellent support from Digi!! Just need to find a perhaps less efficient BUT sufficient solution that would simply just cost less.. Ideas all>>????
thanks.

Since you are looking for alternatives to XBee, I moved this topic from the XBee forum to General Project Help where it will reach a wider audience.
